Zen Hansen
Founder
I’m Zen. I’ve lived most of my life doing what I was “supposed to”—working, caregiving, showing up, surviving. But somewhere in all that, I lost my health, my direction, and a good chunk of myself. Chronic illness, grief, burnout, and a body that just kept screaming louder until I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
Wild Recovery was never meant to be a business. It started as a quiet rebellion. A way to remember who I was before the system swallowed me. Before I said yes to everything but myself. Before I forgot what being barefoot in the dirt even felt like - and this broke my heart because Nature has always been home. Now I’m building a different kind of life—rooted in healing, nature, honesty, and doing things on my terms. I don’t want to wear shoes anymore. This is my barefoot rebellion.
Wild Recovery is for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in a body that won’t cooperate, a system that doesn’t care, or a life they didn’t choose. It’s for the ones clawing their way back to themselves—slowly, gently, or with wild, chaotic feral energy.
This is my way out. My way home. And if you need that too, you’re welcome here.

I'm Austin, Lead website designer for Wild Recovery.
I enjoy building websites, software development, and technology. I enjoy hiking and going out in nature as much as I can. I am the person who says more with my actions than with my words
I am always on the lookout for ways to enhance my lifestyle and improve my health. I believe in recovery by nature. I have found it interesting to see the many ways nature can heal.
